If your domain is already on Cloudflare, you have two options for connecting it to Icemail. This guide explains both options and walks you through the recommended approach.
This method lets you connect your domain to Icemail without changing nameservers. Icemail uses the Cloudflare API to add DNS records automatically.
Go to Domains in your Icemail dashboard
Click Add Domain
Select Connect Existing Domain
Choose Connect via Cloudflare
Authorize Icemail to access your Cloudflare account
DNS records are added automatically — no further action needed
No nameserver changes required
Your existing Cloudflare settings (page rules, WAF, etc.) are preserved
DNS records are added instantly via API
Easiest method if your domain is already on Cloudflare
The standard method involves pointing your domain’s nameservers to Icemail/Cloudflare nameservers. This works for any domain registrar but requires changing nameservers, which may affect other DNS configurations.
When you connect via Cloudflare, Icemail automatically adds all required DNS records:
SPF record — authorizes sending from Icemail mail servers
DKIM record — signs outgoing emails to verify authenticity
DMARC record — sets policy for email authentication failures
MX records — routes inbound email correctly
All records are configured for optimal email deliverability.
