Each of these helps enhance email deliverability, security, and communication efficiency.
Domain Forwarding (also known as URL Forwarding) allows you to redirect traffic from one domain to another. This is helpful if:
You're using multiple outreach domains but want leads redirected to one central brand site.
You’ve rebranded or consolidated and want users to land on your new main domain.
Centralized Traffic: Drive visitors from multiple domains to one main destination.
Seamless Redirection: Avoid broken links and ensure smooth brand transitions.
User Convenience: Visitors always reach the right site—even if they typed an old URL.
Choose the domain you want to redirect from.
Go to Domain Settings in your Icemail dashboard.
Enter your destination URL in the Forwarding field, then click Save.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) is an email authentication protocol that prevents unauthorized use of your domain in email communications (a.k.a. spoofing or phishing).
Verifies authenticity: Ensures only approved servers can send emails on your domain’s behalf.
Protects your reputation: Reduces the risk of your domain being blacklisted.
Generates reports: Sends XML-based logs about how your domain’s emails are handled globally.
A reliable email (e.g., dmarc@yourdomain.com
) to receive DMARC reports
Optional: A tool like Postmark, EasyDMARC, or DMARCian to parse and visualize the reports
Note: Setting up DMARC is especially important when doing cold outreach, as mailbox providers prioritize authenticated senders.
Email Forwarding automatically redirects emails from one address to another. It’s ideal for consolidating outreach inboxes or forwarding messages to a centralized support, sales, or marketing address.
Simplified inbox management: Route multiple accounts to one inbox.
Team collaboration: Forward leads or replies to the right team members.
Faster follow-ups: Get notified in the right inbox without logging into every mailbox.
Go to the Mailbox Settings for the mailbox you want to forward from.
Enter the destination email address.
Click Save to activate forwarding.
A Catch-All Email is a default mailbox that receives all emails sent to invalid or undefined addresses on your domain. For example, if someone emails random@yourdomain.com
(which doesn’t exist), the message will still arrive at your Catch-All inbox.
No email lost: Receive emails sent to mistyped addresses.
Better coverage: Capture unexpected outreach or replies from leads.
Error protection: Especially helpful when using aliases or A/B testing email names.
Open the Domains section.
Choose the domain and go to Domain Settings.
Set the Catch-All Email address (e.g., catchall@yourdomain.com
) and click Save.
