If you're prompted by Google with a “Verify it’s you” message during manual login, don’t worry—this is a normal security measure. This guide shows how to use your recovery email to securely access your mailboxes.
Recovery emails are an essential security fallback. They help verify your identity if you’re logging in from a new device or location. All mailboxes under your Icemail workspace share the same recovery email—making verification fast and seamless.
Go to Gmail and enter your mailbox credentials.
If prompted with “Verify it’s you”, continue to the next step.
Important: Select “Confirm your recovery email” — do not choose “Get a verification code.”
This ensures Google verifies your account using your configured backup email.
Navigate back to the Icemail dashboard.
Go to the Mailboxes section.
Select the mailbox you're logging into.
Locate the “Recovery Email” field to view or set your backup email.
Return to the Google login screen and type in your recovery email when prompted.
Click “Next” to continue.
Once verified, you’ll be logged into your mailbox immediately.
Use a verified and active recovery email you can access anytime.
Ensure all mailboxes are linked to the same recovery email to simplify management.
If you update the recovery email in Icemail, it will apply to all associated mailboxes.
