Types of Connection MethodsWhen exporting mailboxes to third-party platforms, there are two primary authentication methods:
OAuth (Recommended)OAuth is a secure, token-based method that allows Icemail to connect your Gmail accounts without needing to store or transmit your password. It’s the preferred option for most platforms due to its security, scalability, and simplicity.
App PasswordsThis method requires:
Manual generation of app-specific passwords from your Google account.
Enabling 2-Factor Authentication (2FA).
In some cases, verifying a phone number.
Important Note: Icemail does not support manual verification steps like 2FA or phone verification on your behalf. Therefore, only platforms that offer OAuth-based connection can be fully supported by Icemail’s one-click export.
