When connecting a domain to Icemail, you may encounter a "Workspace already exists" error.
This happens because both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 allow only one active workspace per domain. If a workspace was previously created or is still active for that domain, the connection will fail.
If you set up a Google Workspace on this domain before:
Go to Google Admin Console
Billing → Subscriptions → find your subscription → Cancel Subscription
After canceling, proceed to delete the workspace entirely
Wait 24 hours before reconnecting the domain in Icemail
Important: Canceling the subscription alone is not enough — the workspace must be fully deleted.
If the domain was previously associated with another Google account:
Use the Google Domain In-Use Recovery Tool to reclaim ownership
Follow Google's verification steps
Wait several hours after recovery before reconnecting to Icemail
If you previously connected this domain to Microsoft 365:
Go to Microsoft Admin Center
Settings → Domains
Select the domain → click Remove domain
Click Update → Continue to confirm removal
Wait before reconnecting the domain in Icemail
Subscription cancellation alone is not sufficient — full deletion is required
Icemail cannot override platform-level restrictions imposed by Google or Microsoft
If the domain had a previous owner, use the appropriate recovery tool before reconnecting
